Our Commitment to Safety & Compliance
In the world of luxury and expedition travel, safety is the ultimate luxury. At Dani Tribe Cultural Atlas, we operate with the understanding that our clients place their complete trust in our ability to manage risk in a complex and remote environment. As a premier brand of Juara Holding Group, we have a corporate and moral obligation to maintain the highest possible standards of safety and full compliance with all Indonesian and international regulations. This page details the framework that ensures your journey is not only inspiring but also impeccably safe. (See Smithsonian on Baliem Valley for context.)
Regulatory & Corporate Compliance
We are a legally registered and fully compliant Indonesian entity, committed to transparency and good governance.
- Tourism Business License (SIUP-PARIWISATA): Our operations are fully licensed by the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism (Kemenparekraf) under license number 123/SIUP-PAR/PM/V/2020. This ensures we meet all national standards for a tour and travel business.
- Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP): Juara Holding Group and its subsidiaries are registered taxpayers in Indonesia (NPWP: 93.855.231.7-901.000), contributing to the national economy and operating with financial transparency.
- Employee Social Security (BPJS): All our permanent staff and crew in Indonesia are covered by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (Social Security) and BPJS Kesehatan (Health Insurance), ensuring their welfare and our compliance with Indonesian labor laws.
- IATA Accreditation: As part of Juara Holding Group, our IATA accreditation (Code: 15309876) demonstrates our financial stability and adherence to the global standards of the aviation industry.
Aviation & Transportation Safety
Given the reliance on air travel in Papua, our aviation safety protocols are exceptionally stringent.
- Carrier Vetting: We only partner with air carriers (e.g., Garuda Indonesia, Trigana Air, Susi Air) that have a proven safety record and are fully certified by Indonesia’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). We review their safety audits and operational history.
- Charter Flight Protocols: For all private charters, we verify the aircraft’s maintenance records and the pilots’ experience and total flight hours in Papuan terrain.
- Ground Transport: Our fleet of 4×4 vehicles in and around Wamena is maintained to the highest standards. All vehicles are equipped with GPS tracking, and our drivers are trained in defensive driving and basic vehicle maintenance.
On-the-Ground Operational Safety
Our safety planning extends to every moment of your expedition.
- Certified Guides: All lead guides are certified by the Himpunan Pramuwisata Indonesia (HPI) and must also pass our own advanced certification in Wilderness First Aid (WFA) and remote area risk management.
- 24/7 Emergency Support: Our operations office in Bali maintains a 24/7 duty officer system. Every expedition is monitored, and our team is always on call to respond to any situation.
- Robust Communication: Every trekking group is equipped with a satellite phone and a GPS locator beacon (such as a Garmin inReach device) for reliable communication far beyond the reach of cellular networks.
- Medical Emergency Protocol: We have a detailed, multi-stage medical evacuation plan. This includes partnerships with the best available clinics in Wamena and Jayapura, and a standing agreement with International SOS for emergency medical evacuation to major international hospitals if required. All expeditions carry a comprehensive expedition-grade medical kit.
- Risk Assessment: Before every journey, our operations team, led by our safety coordinator Kapten (Purn.) Budi Santoso, conducts a thorough risk assessment based on the latest information on weather, local conditions, and security.
Our commitment to safety is absolute and uncompromising. It is the invisible framework that allows you to immerse yourself fully in the experience, confident that every detail has been managed to the highest possible standard.
