Bapak I Gusti Made Wirawan

Founder & Chief Cultural Strategist

Credentials: M.A. in Social Anthropology, Universitas Gadjah Mada; 20+ years in Indonesian luxury hospitality (Aman Resorts, Como Shambhala Estate).

Bio: The visionary behind the Dani Tribe Cultural Atlas, Pak Made combines a deep academic understanding of Indonesian cultures with an intuitive grasp of luxury service. His fieldwork in the early 2000s in the Baliem Valley laid the foundation for our company’s ethos of ‘Responsible Immersion.’ He personally oversees the development of every itinerary, ensuring each journey is not only flawlessly executed but also culturally profound and respectful. As the head of Juara Holding Group, he champions a model of tourism that is both sustainable and transformative.

Ibu Yuliana Kogoya

Head of Operations, Papua

Credentials: Certified Master Guide, Himpunan Pramuwisata Indonesia (HPI); Diploma in Tourism Management, Universitas Cenderawasih.

Bio: Born and raised in a village just outside Wamena, Yuliana possesses an unparalleled understanding of the local landscape, culture, and social dynamics. A member of the Lani tribe with close ties to Dani communities, she is the heart of our on-the-ground operations. Yuliana manages our network of local guides, porters, and community partners, ensuring that our operations directly benefit the local economy. Her leadership is critical to navigating the complex logistics of the region and fostering the genuine connections that define our curated experiences.

Dr. Arief Budiman

Lead Ethnographic Advisor

Credentials: Ph.D. in Ethnography, Universitas Indonesia; Former Researcher at LIPI (Indonesian Institute of Sciences).

Bio: Dr. Budiman is our academic cornerstone, responsible for the accuracy and depth of the cultural information we provide. He has published numerous papers on Papuan socio-cultural evolution and advises our team on best practices for cultural engagement. He developed our guide training curriculum, which goes far beyond standard tour information to include modules on oral history, symbology, and the ethical considerations of cultural tourism. Dr. Budiman’s work ensures our narratives are authentic and free from exoticism, upholding our rigorous editorial standards.

Credentials: Certified Travel Associate (CTA); 15 years experience with global luxury travel networks (Virtuoso, Abercrombie & Kent).

Bio: Sophia is the primary point of contact for our international clientele. With a career spanning luxury travel planning in Singapore, Hong Kong, and London, she excels at understanding the needs of discerning travelers and translating them into seamless, personalized Papuan journeys. She manages everything from complex international flight connections and private charter arrangements to dietary requirements and special requests, ensuring every aspect of the client experience meets the world-class standards of the Juara Holding Group.

Kapten (Purn.) Budi Santoso

Logistics & Safety Coordinator

Credentials: Former Aviation Safety Officer, Indonesian Air Force; Certified Safety Management Systems (SMS) Auditor.

Bio: In Papua, safety is not a luxury; it is a prerequisite. Kapten Budi, a retired Air Force officer with extensive experience in remote area logistics, oversees our entire safety protocol. He vets all our aviation partners, including charter services like Susi Air and Trigana Air, ensuring strict compliance with DGCA (Direktorat Jenderal Perhubungan Udara) regulations. He manages our emergency response plans, vehicle maintenance schedules, and communication systems (including satellite phones and GPS tracking), providing our guests and team with absolute peace of mind. His meticulous approach is fundamental to our Safety & Compliance promise.
